Reverse Osmosis Under Your Sink in Lancaster
We put a reverse osmosis system in your kitchen sink cabinet, so drinking and cooking water runs through several filter stages and out its own small faucet. First we check your water and the space under the sink, then tell you plainly whether this system suits your home.
Filtered water where you actually use it
An under-sink reverse osmosis system pushes your tap water through a sediment prefilter, a carbon filter and a very fine membrane that holds back dissolved solids, many metals and much of what gives water an off taste. The cleaned water collects in a small storage tank and comes out of a dedicated faucet next to your main one.
It is a good choice when your concern is the water you drink, cook pasta in and pour into the coffee maker, rather than the water in your shower. If the whole house tastes or smells of chlorine, whole-house carbon filtration may be the better first step. We will tell you which one fits before you spend anything.
Many people call us after a storm knocks out power or a boil-water notice makes them think harder about their tap. A standard RO system needs no electricity, so it keeps working when the lights go out. After a notice lifts, though, the filters should be changed and the system sanitized, which we can handle on the same visit.

What your installation includes
- 01
A look at your water first
We check your water before recommending a system, or point you to our water testing service if a lab result would help. That way the membrane and prefilters match what is actually coming out of your tap.
- 02
Cabinet and plumbing check
We measure the space under your sink and look at the cold line, the drain and any garbage disposal. Tight cabinets, older shutoff valves and low water pressure all change what we install, and we tell you about them up front.
- 03
Dedicated drinking faucet
We mount the faucet through an existing sink hole or drill a clean new one. Stone countertops take a slower, careful drill, and we explain that before we start.
- 04
Storage tank and drain connection
The tank sits in the cabinet and the reject line ties into your drain with a proper saddle fitting so it stays quiet and leak-free.
- 05
Optional ice maker or fridge line
If you want filtered ice and fridge water too, we can run a line to your refrigerator when the layout allows.
- 06
Cleanup and a walkthrough
We wipe out the cabinet, flush the system and show you where each filter sits and how to shut it off.
Questions about Under-sink reverse osmosis?
Call(972) 428-3132Signs an RO system makes sense for your home
You buy bottled water out of habit
If cases of bottled water are on every grocery list because the tap tastes off, an under-sink system usually solves the reason you are buying them.
Your plumbing has some age
Older fixtures and solder can add trace metals like lead between the street and your glass. RO is one of the most effective ways to reduce that at the drinking tap.
A storm or boil-water notice shook your confidence
After a notice is lifted, many people want an extra layer of filtration for the water their family drinks. We can talk through what RO does and does not do in that situation.
Spots and film on glasses and kettles
High dissolved solids leave a white film when water dries. RO water leaves far less behind.
Your current filter is a pitcher or a faucet clip
Those help with taste but filter far less. If you want more than a carbon cartridge can give, RO is the next step up.
How the job goes
- 1
A phone conversation
You tell us what bothers you about your water and what is under your sink. We ask a few questions and set a visit time that works for you.
- 2
Testing and a written estimate
At your home we check the water and the cabinet, then give you a line-item estimate. If RO is not the right answer, we say so.
- 3
Installation day
Most installs take a few hours. We lay down a towel and drop cloth, shut off the cold line, mount the faucet, set the tank and connect everything with the water off.
- 4
Flush, leak check and walkthrough
We run the system to flush the new membrane, check every fitting for drips and show you how filter changes work. Our filter replacement and maintenance service can keep it on schedule after that.
What affects the price
Every kitchen is a little different, so we price after seeing yours. The estimate lists each part and the labor so nothing shows up later as a surprise. These are the things that move the number most.
- The system itself
- Basic four- or five-stage units cost less than systems with a remineralization stage, a larger tank or a tankless design.
- Your countertop
- Using an existing hole is simplest. Drilling granite or quartz takes more time and the right bit.
- Water pressure
- RO works best with steady pressure. If yours runs low, a small booster pump may be needed, and that adds cost.
- Extra lines
- Running filtered water to a refrigerator or ice maker adds tubing, fittings and labor, more so when the fridge is across the kitchen.
Questions about under-sink reverse osmosis
Does reverse osmosis waste a lot of water?
An RO system sends some water to the drain to rinse the membrane. Newer systems are much more efficient than older ones, and the amount is small compared with a load of laundry. We can show you the ratio for the model we recommend.
Will it work during a power outage?
Yes, a standard under-sink system runs on your water pressure alone. Only units with a booster pump or UV light need power. Storms that knock out electricity across the area will not stop your drinking water from filtering.
What should I do with my RO system after a boil-water notice?
Follow the city's guidance first and do not rely on the filter while a notice is in effect. Once it is lifted, the prefilters should be replaced and the system sanitized. Give us a call and we will schedule that for you.
How often do filters need changing?
Prefilters are typically changed about once a year, sometimes sooner if your water carries sediment. The membrane lasts longer, often a few years. We leave you a simple schedule and can handle the changes for you.
Does RO remove minerals I want in my water?
It does remove most minerals along with the things you want gone. Your food gives you far more minerals than water does, but if you prefer the taste, a remineralization stage adds a little back.
Do you install outside Lancaster?
Yes. We also work in nearby towns like DeSoto, Red Oak, Cedar Hill and Duncanville. Ask when you call and we will confirm.
